Student Welfare Council Inauguration at Milagres College Kallianpur
The investiture ceremony of Student Welfare Council was held at Milagres College Kallianpur on 30th January 2021. Dr Harald Ivan Monis, Principal of St Mary’s College Shirva was the investiture officer, inaugurated Student Welfare Council 2020-2021.
Dr Herald Monis vested Kajal Suvarna 3rd BCA the president of SWC with the president attire. The principal of the college Dr Vincent Alva Administered oath to the president followed by other office bearers, Vice President I- Stephan 3rdBA, Vice President 2- Saman, 3rd Bcom, General Secretary- Aditya Pai 3rd BSc, Joint Secretary Juwairiya 3rd Bcom, Sports Secretary Priyanka and Nitesh 3rd Bcom and Cultural Secretary Vaishak 3rd Bcom.
During the inaugural address Dr Herald Monis congratulated all the office bearers and the class representatives. He said, “I personally believe, Student Welfare Council has a great role to play. There should be discipline, healthy learning environment with the support of all the stakeholders- parents, teachers and students as well.”
“According to Gross Enrolment Ratio around 27% students under the age of 18 to 23 are studying in college or university level in India. You are one among them. If we see the GER of other countries like Germany, Japan, UK, USA, Brazil, we are lagging behind. You may have tough task unless and until you improve your soft skills through hard work.” “You should have positive attitude towards life to achieve success”, he added.
Dr Herald Monis was felicitated on the occasion for rendering 26 years of service at Milagres College in the department of Commerce. Dr. Jayaram Shettigar IQAC Coordinator, expressed words of gratitude on behalf of the College.
Mr Gangadhar G, alumnus (1979 batch) World Record Holder in Padmasana Swimming was the guest of honour. Dr Gangadhar G was felicitated on this occasion. Mr Ravinandan ,PRO of Milagres College read the letter of appreciation. Mr. Gangadhar G thanked everybody who helped him to achieve this great success. He said, “Teenage is the golden age. It’s dangerous as well. They easily get attracted towards bad deeds. As a result their future will be spoiled. Three aspects- education, money and power are the mixture of good and evil. It is extremely essential to know how to utilize it in an accurate way. So it is my sincere request that, you all need to think twice before taking any decisions. Consult parents, teachers and elders.”
Very Rever.Fr Valerian Mendoca ,Correspondent of Milagres Institutions was the president of program. During his presidential address, he said, “Achieve greatness in your life; use all the facilities to build up your personality. Achieve great satisfaction in the field of your specialisation”
On this occasion, Investiture officer, Dr Herald Monis, handed over attendance certificate to CPL Nidhitha, of Milagres College who was the only representative from 21 KAR BN Udupi attended National Level Pre RDC Camp held at Banglore .
IQAC Coordinator Dr Jayaram Shettigar, Vice president of Managing Council-Mr Jeoffrey Dias, PTA President- Jyoti Lewis, SWC Directors Mrs Chandrika and Mr Kartik Nayak were present on the dais.
Mrs. Chandrika, Director of SWC welcomed the gathering, Aditya Pai General Secretary of Student Welfare Council proposed vote of thanks, Elrica Furtado of 3rd B.com and and Muhammad Adnan of 3rd BSc compeered the program.
