• Acted in dozens of dramas – both in Konkani and in Kannada, in native towns, including Don Bosco Managlore, Kundapur, and Makkala Mantapa Brahmmavar.
• Directed and acted in a few short social plays in Mumbai, Muscat.
• Served in MCCP Muscat as its founder Joint Secretary – now a premier social platform of Mangaloreans in the Sultanate of Oman.
• Initiated to form GBCT(R) Global Barkurian Charity Trust, as its author, and Lifetime Trustee.

• After leaving Somaiyya College, in 1985, served in multinationals like, Philips India, RHL (Richardson Hindustan Ltd), Britannia Biscuits, TATA share Registry etc totalling a period of 4 years, especially in their Accounts & Finance Dept.
• Got an excellent opportunity to serve in Gulf i.e. ‘Shanfari Group of Companies’, a reputed business house in the Sultanate of Oman in 1988, and served here in their various affiliated Companies, Divisions – in their respective Accounts and in Corporate office, Centralised stores etc.
• Served as Manager – Purchase and Procurements till 2017, when voluntarily retired after an unstinted service career of three decades – 1988 – 2017.
• As Manager – ‘Bada Business’ franchisee office in Southern Bangalore, region 2019-20.

Children: Son,  Arnold Strafford Furtado, an Engineer, BE (Mech.) serving in Dubai, UAE and daughter Anusha Sharon Furtado, MSc (HIM) serving in Fr Muller’s Charitable Institutions, Kankanady, Mangalore.
